Multiple Wind Related Incidents - Borough of Liberty
Sun. Feb 24th 2019

Just after 1500 hours this afternoon, as wind gusts picked up throughout the area, the 911 center became swamped with calls for wires down/arcing, transformers on fire and trees down all over the county. Locally crews were sent to 2700 Block of "F" street for wires down, 800 Block of Lauck Street for a utility pole down on a vehicle with wires arcing, 100 of Block of South Allegheny Drive for arcing wires, 700 Block Memory Lane for a tree down and finally 3300 Block of Oakland Drive for a transformer explosion. Crews were rotated every couple of hours for the Lauck Street incident due to the wires continuously arcing until Duquesne Light arrived at 0230am on the 25th!
