Just 1300hrs, the first alarm assignment was transmitted for smoke coming from a building in the area of 7th and Monongahela Avenue in Glassport. Police and EMS arrived confirming a working fire in the 700 block of Oak Ally. 161 chief reported in saying he had a header from his vantage point and requested a 2nd alarm transmitted. Departments from around the Mon Valley assisted Glassport crews with bringing the fire under control. Multiple rehab units were brought to the scene to assist with cooling and hydration of the personnel. 183 personnel were back in service just before 1700.
