Just before 2000hrs, crews were alerted to assist Glassport with a large brush fire at the Patterson Property, 161 Assistant arrived on scene reporting a large brush fire that was spreading down the hill.
Crews answered a couple calls for service on this cool Sunday in February. Just before 1400hrs, a second alarm was transmitted for an apartment fire in 1300 Block of Union Street in Mckeesport. The air truck responded to the scene while the rescue relocated to Station 161, Glassport for stand by.
Just after 0615 this morning, crews were alerted on the 2nd alarm to assist the City of McKeesport with a commercial building fire. 190 units on scene with a well involved 500x60 building that housed their public works vehicles.
Just before 1030 this morning, crews were alerted to the 900 block of Woodland Avenue in Port Vue for smoke in a structure. Port Vue police arrived on scene reporting the fire out, moderate smoke condition inside.
Just before 0300 this morning crews were alerted to the 2700 block of Washington Blvd for a unknown type fire, resident reporting a fire in their front yard. Units arrived to find a downed power line arcing, command requested Duquesne Light to the scene.
At 1137 this morning, AC911 transmitted the 1st alarm assignment for a reported kitchen fire in the 900 block of Elizabeth Street in the borough. 183 chief arrived confirming a fire in the kitchen with hydrants located at both ends of the street and evac complete.
At 1528 AC911 transmitted the 1st alarm assignment for smoke coming from a dwelling in the 100 block of Delrose Drive in the borough. Liberty Police arrived on scene confirming smoke showing from the residence.
Just after 0130 this morning, AC911 transmitted a 1st alarm assignment for a reported house fire in the 900 block of Romine Avenue in Port Vue. PVPD arrived and confirmed a working fire as they were spotting a hydrant for incoming units.
Early this morning, the first alarm was transmitted for a reported building fire at Jo Lynn Pizza in the borough. Communications started to receive multiple calls for smoke coming from the building which was confirmed by Liberty police when they arrived.
Crews were kept busy this afternoon as severe weather moved into the Mon Valley just after 1500hrs. Heavy down pours were mixed with high winds and lighting throughout the area, Personnel handled multiple reports of trees being brought down, power lines down and other property damage reports.
Around 0015 this morning crews were alerted for a solitary vehicle crash, vehicle into a wooded area with unknown injuries. Lincoln Borough police arrived and reported a pick up truck into the woods, appears the driver may have fled from the scene.
At 1300hrs this afternoon Liberty Borough Police were out on routine patrol and discovered a odor of natural gas in the 400 Block of Glenn Avenue. The police immediately radioed into the 911 center requesting the fire department activated.
1st alarm was transmitted this morning for smoke coming from the roof of a home in the 1000 block of Delaware Avenue. Glassport Police arrived on the scene confirming smoke from the eaves/roof. Crews arrived to find a fire in the basement, extending vertically by running the walls.
1st alarm was transmitted this morning around 0940 for smoke coming from the roof of a home in the 600 block of Michigan Avenue. Glassport Police arrived confirming the dispatch of smoke showing from the roof, home appears to be vacant.
At 0500 this morning, the 1st alarm was transmitted sending the AIR truck into Elizabeth Twp. for a reported apartment fire above the Trail View Convenience Store. Additional calls started coming into the 911 center reporting the fire was actually in the store spreading to the above apartment.
At 1548 this afternoon, the first alarm was transmitted for a reported apartment fire in the 800 Block of Monongahela Avenue in Glassport. Police arrived on scene reporting smoke showing from the alpha side.
Just after 1930 this evening while crews were wrapping up drill, the 1st alarm assignment was transmitted for a possible house fire in the 3200 Block of Oakland Drive in the borough. A neighbor reported she could see a fire visible through a window of home on Oakland Drive.
Just after 13:15 this afternoon the 1st alarm assignment was transmitted for smoke in the basement of a dwelling in the 400 block of Ohio Avenue in Glassport. GLAPD arrived on scene confirming a smoke condition with a unknown source at this time.
At 09:15 this morning, the 1st alarm assignment was transmitted for a house fire in the 600 block of Owens Avenue. 183 captain arrived reporting a 1 story brick with smoke showing from the alpha side. 183 chief arrived assuming command and updating incoming units of a fire in the sub-division.
Just before 5:00pm this evening crews were alerted to the intersection of Lincoln Blvd and Bellbridge Rd for a 2 vehicle crash, 1 reported to be trapped. Chief 139 arrived, confirmed 1 trapped in the 4 door car after a T-Bone type collision.
Under these conditions, fuels do not readily ignite.
